Cabin Planning Permission

The best tip is to approach your local planning office and inquire if you will need planning permission for your intended log building before you go ahead with any development of a log cabin or garden building.

As a general rule if your are building a log cabin which is going to be a residential home where people will permanently live, then usually you are going to need planning permission for this building.

If your new log cabin is just a garden cabin that will be used for leisure or just an office, you may not need any planning permission but it is always advisable to check as the location of your log cabin can make a difference.

For more information on planning and building permission go to the government website.
