Garden cabin base

Yes garden log cabins do need a foundation base.

Many log building can weigh 1 ton or even more this depending on the size and thickness of logs used and before building your garden log cabin you must have a strong concrete base which can support the weight and be level.

The foundation base has to be at least 4 inches thick it is important to check the type of soil on which your base is going as you may need to install some hard core underneath it so it does not crack or breakaway when your log cabin is constructed.
This 4 inch base must be raised above ground level by at minimum of 3 inches with a waterproof membrane placed underneath it, this membrane will help to protect the bottom logs of your garden log cabin from any damage, many company’s can provide or offer you the services of  a professional for a fee.
